What great way to kickoff the 2012 Bible Quizzing Season with some exciting quizzes and great competition!
The tournament took place February 18, 2012 at Riverside Apostolic Church Morgantown, WV.

In addition to the local ministry that Sheaves for Christ provieds, it also has provided and continues to provide vehicles for missionaries, evangelism assistance in over 150 nations and also provides property grants to church planters.
Sheaves for Christ has one of the farthest reaches of any UPCI fund drive.
Our own Frank Bounds and the Pentecostals of Parkersburg have been recipents of a Sheaves for Christ grant, too, which has assisted them with their current property!

Our beloved Rev. Ronald Bates has passed away. He served as pastor of First Apostolic Church in Nitro, WV.
Both the viewing and funeral will be at Chapman Funeral Home in Teay’s Valley, WV.
The viewing will be on Saturday, January 21, 2012, starting at 6:00 pm.
The funeral/celebration service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

The WV District website has some newly improved interface features…
New: All media icons combined into one
We’ve streamlined things! Instead of needing to click on a specific upload icon based on your file type, now there’s just one. Once your file is uploaded, the appropriate fields will be displayed for entering information based on the file type.
New: Drag & drop files onto the uploader
Adding photos or other files to posts and pages just got easier. Drag files from your desktop and drop them into the uploader. Add one file at a time, or many at once.
We’ve added the rar and 7z file formats to the list of allowed file types in the uploader.
New: Dashboard flyouts, easier navigation
Speed up navigating the dashboard and reduce repetitive clicking with our new flyout submenus. As you hover over each main menu item in your dashboard navigation, the submenus will magically appear, providing single-click access to any dashboard screen.
To save space and increase efficiency, we’ve combined the admin bar and the old Dashboard header into one persistent toolbar. Hovering over the toolbar items will reveal submenus when available for quick access.
Certain dashboard screens have been updated to look better at various sizes, including improved iPad/tablet support.
New: Better help screens
The Help tabs located in the upper corner of the dashboard screens below your name have gotten a facelift. Help content is broken into smaller sections for easier access, with links to relevant documentation and the support forums always visible.
New: Feature Pointer
When we add new features, move navigation, or do anything else with the dashboard that might throw you for a loop after we update the site, we’ll let you know about it with new feature pointers explaining the change.
New: Better Co-editing
Have you ever gone to edit a post after someone else has finished with it, only to get an alert that tells you the other person is still editing the post? From now on, you’ll only get that alert if another person is still on the editing screen — no more time lag.
We’d like to take an opportunity to make you aware of a change in Bible Quizzing leadership. Pastor Jon Henry has decided to step down as Bible Quizzing Coordinator so that he can focus on being the quizzing coach for the team from his local church. We do thank him for 4 faithful years of service as WV District Bible Quizzing Coordinator. We salute his outstanding service to WV Bible Quizzing! And, we are happy for him as he leads the Bible Quizzing team from the Lighthouse in Morgantown!
In his place, we have appointed Rev. Michael Ray as successor. Brother Ray officially begins his appointment as WV District Bible Quizzing Coordinator on December 1. Michael and Melissa Ray are currently serving as Youth Pastor at the Glen Ferris Apostolic Church in Glen Ferris, WV. They will be a great addition to the team and we welcome them! Dear West Virginia Family:
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
I would like to thank you for your continued support of the WV Youth Ministries. I also would like to inform you about a wonderful opportunity available to all WV Youth ages 15+ next summer.
We are sponsoring a WV Youth on Mission Trip to the Province of Québec in Canada next June 20-28, 2012. Québec is the most multicultural district in the United Pentecostal Church boasting converts from more than 40 different countries around the world. While there, we will be participating in explosive church services, outreach, fellowship with the Québec District FLAYME youth group and many other worthwhile ministry endeavors. We’d very much love to include some students from your church on this trip! The trip will be led by the WV District Youth leadership, the Québec District Youth President Hector Guzmán and Metro Missionaries Scott and Liane Grant.
The total cost of the trip will be around $1,300 and will be all-inclusive (travel, lodging, tourism, 2-meals per day).

To participate, students should fill out their application and send in a non-refundable application fee of $100 postmarked no later than January 9, 2012.

We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved Bishop Kenneth F. Haney, former General Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church International. Brother Haney was a leader of great vision, inspiration, and faith. We will miss him greatly. Please keep Sister Haney, the family, and the church in your prayers. More information will be forthcoming.

On October 21, 2011, Bishop David M. Hudson was officially installed as Superintendent of the WV District of the United Pentecostal Church International. David K. Special thanks to all churches who have supported Sheaves for Christ this year. Many offerings have been received thus far. The SFC Sacrificial offering date was Sunday, September 11th. However, if you have not yet sent in or collected your church’s SFC offering, it is not too late!
Please help us with this very important offering. Remember, 40% of the SFC offering stays right here in WV to assist in the many ministries provided to your students and young people.

Tremendous word that was delivered to us this past week at our anual conference. Thank you to every pastor for your support and allowing the men of your local congregation to attend these services. The count given to me was that friday night over 26 pastors alone were in attendance. Awesome support!
Bishop Bill Davis gave us great admonition and clarity from the word of God. Host pastor Anthony Moss challenged each one to become the men of promise that hell is afraid to encounter. Friday morning sessions were terrific as pastor Nathaniel Hudson spoke on the subject in Genesis of adam.
Thank you NCAC church family and staff as you made everyone welcome and at home.
The Men’s commitee of Wv also extends appreciation and warm regards to the entire district board for granting this event.

In just a few weeks our General conference will convene in Kentucky. I am excited to be a part of the Apostolic Man service on saturday morning. The speaker will be Rev. Brian Kinsey from Pensacola,Florida. This will be a service you will not want to miss. I anticipate wonderful things in the Holy Ghost in this gathering. Lastly, I am endeavoring to meet with other district directors at general conference to glean information and ideas to better lead the men of this great district. We have been challenged by the enemy and I know that we will rise to the forefront with victory thru the only true living God. Thank you for allowing me to serve.

We are pleased to announce “WV Youth on Mission–Quebec!” Join us for a life-changing, high-impact experience in the most multicultural district in the UPCI.
Next June, a group of 25-30 WV students will participate in a missions trip to the Quebec Province of Canada. The UPCI churches there have more than 42 nationalities within their congregations. We hope you’ll participate.

We have had tremendous services thus far in Men of Promise 2011. Pastor Anthony Moss led us into the throne room of heaven last evening and this morning Pastor Nathaniel Hudson and Bishop Bill Davis equiped us with becoming better husbands, fathers and leaders. Tonight will be no exception either as Bishop Garlitz will be tag teaming with Bishop Bill Davis into another realm of the spirit.
