Attention Licensed Ministers:
You already have a free membership on this site. You do not need to register. If you don't know your username and password, please email us, and we will send your log-in information to you. If you know your username but not your password, then you can reset your password at any time. Also, you don't need to register on our main site (www.wvupci.org), because a single account covers all the sites on our network. The first thing to do after you log in is to edit your profile so that your directory listing is accurate. Thank you!

Ministers Not Yet Licensed: "How do I get license with the UPCI?"
The process to be licensed with the WV/western MD District UPCI involves these steps:

  1. Speak to your pastor, seek their approval and blessing.
  2. Contact your sectional presbyter. (Click here for their contact info.) Your presbyter will provide you with an application for license. Also request from your presbyter the Study Sheet for Ministerial Test Questions.
  3. Once you've completed your application and it's signed by your pastor, submit the application to your presbyter and request a meeting with your presbyter. (That meeting is required before you request an appointment to meet the District Board).
  4. Download the latest updated list of UPCI License Reading Requirements, and begin obtaining and reading the books on the list for your desired level of licensure.
  5. Complete preparatory ministry training. The following options are available:
    1. Enroll & complete an appropriate license course at MinistryCentral.com (online video training). For example, the Local License course track is available for $64.
    2. Enroll & graduate from a local campus of Purpose Institute or another UPCI-endorsed Bible college.
  6. When you're ready to meet the District Board (once you've completed the required reading and completed preparatory training) contact the district secretary-treasurer to schedule an appointment to meet the District Board.
  7. Show up for your appointment to meet the District Board. Dress appropriately, and be punctual! (Show up early enough to complete your written test beforehand.)

Attention Newly Licensed & Ministers Not Yet Licensed:
If you have already registered on our main site (wvupci.org), then you already have a free account here, but it needs to be activated for this free minister's only site. If so, please email us, and we will activate your account. It's free. If you have not yet registered either here or on the main site, then please sign up here (not on the main site). You won't need to register on our main site, because a single account covers all sites on our network. If you mistakenly sign-up on the main site instead, just email us, and we will activate your account here.

To all: Welcome to the WV UPCI Ministers site (part of the WV UPCI Network). This site is for all UPCI preachers in WV and western MD — both those not yet licensed and already licensed. If you don't yet have an account, you are encouraged to sign up. It's free.

What Is This Place?
This site provides a dedicated place for WV UPCI ministers to fellowship and network with one another, a place for young ministers in training to ask questions and get answers, a means for all our ministers to immediately update their personal data record for the district, and an online way to set up auto-payment of their ministerial dues. Please let us know if there are any other ways we can help you. Thanks!

CFC Video Download Links / ‘Christmas Cards For Christ’ Info

Dear Pastors / Elders of WV & western MD:

Below is an image of a CFC mailer that was sent out. Please take note of the dates and info, and we hope you will help us to have successful events promoting missions giving.

You can download three awesome 2012 CFC videos from this webpage: http://namupci.com/index.php/2012-02-17-01-54-40/christmas-for-christ

The third video about the preacher's children is particularly touching! All three videos are excellent!

You could show them in your church, perhaps one per service. Along with showing the last video on your most well-attended service of the week, please consider giving out the Christmas Cards For Christ that we will provide for your church. We suggest that you have someone spread them out across the altar, lead in prayer, and then ask your folks to come and choose a card and take it home. This special promotional service could be done anytime between now and Christmas, but it would be helpful to do it earlier, so the folks have a little more time and advance notice to save for their missions giving pledge.

What are Christmas Cards For Christ?
We had these custom printed for the WV District. There are 100 cards in each box. The first card is in an envelope that has $1 on it. The second has $2 on the envelope, and so on, up to $100 on the last card's envelope. Our average church will need 1 box of cards. Larger churches will need more boxes -- just let us know how many. Two small churches could split a box, by one taking the even numbered envelopes, and the other taking the odd.

The concept is simple: Every family can take a card, or each individual. Even children can pledge to give, by perhaps taking a card with a low number on it.  Then, some weeks later, in December (on or around the suggested offering date of Sunday, December 23, 2012), each family or individual giver would bring their Christmas card to the altar, inside its envelope along with their offering check.

We are asking you to not only use this approach (let your folks take home one or more cards), but also to encourage all the pastors in your circle of friends to let their folks take home one or more cards and pledge to give. The cards will help WV to "blow the doors off" of our missions giving, by simply switching more churches to letting the members have the opportunity to give. Great blessing will come on our churches when we increase our missions giving!

Our giving goal this year is $33,333.33, which would set two milestones: It would be a record year, but it would also cause WV to surpass $800,000 in missions giving to CFC since the beginning! My faith is that WV will come alive with a burden for missions giving that will go far, far beyond this humble goal. Thank you for your help!!! We appreciate you! The CFC mailer is below.

Evangelism Opportunity

Greetings in Jesus Name.

I am taking the opportunity to send out a message to all of our Pastors and Ministers. The Lord has recently dealt with me in the area of evangelism and revival. I work a secular job and as many of you know, it is sometimes a burden to balance that with ministry and family. As I was praying God spoke to me very strong that I should approach my employer about getting a permanent schedule that would free up my time for evangelism. I have learned that listening to the voice of God is very important, regardless of doubts and opinions. I approached my employer and told him exactly what I needed and he didn't blink an eye, but said I respect that and granted the request and for that I give God the glory.  As of 3/24/12 my new schedule will go into effect. I will only be working Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursday and Friday. God is ready for revival to spread through our district unlike we have ever witnessed before and I want to be right in the middle of it. I am reaching out to Pastors so that you know my availability and if you would feel to have me come and minister, I am available to do the perfect will of God. Below is a link to my website with my contact information. I am believing with each and every one of you for the greatest outpouring of the Holy Ghost, Miracles and Wonders that we have ever witnessed to date. Thank you for your time and God Bless.

In His Service,

Howard J. Dean

Excellent article addressing reasons for modesty

Ministers, take two minutes to read this excellent article addressing reasons for modesty. It can perhaps assist you in articulating good standards to those you serve in ministry.

Transfer Completed

Supt. Hudson transfers records to Sec. Pitsenbarger

Supt. D. Hudson transfers records to Sec. D. Pitsenbarger

Dear WV Ministers,

Just a note to let you know that Brother Pitsenbarger and I met in Morgantown at Riverside Apostolic Church and completed the transition of all records, notes, files, checks and anything we could think of.  It was received in good order.  The attached photo verifies our exchange today.  Sister Hudson and I left Columbus early this morning from Youth Congress to meet with Brother and Sister Pitsenbarger.

There will be a forthcoming letter from Brother Pitsenbarger with new cards and envelopes to send your dues to his Charleston address.  Please address all financial correspondence to Brother Pitsenbarger.  He is 'eager' to receive your dues.  We are pleased with your patience in this transition process.  With the conclusion of the youth camp all checks and receipts have been posted. Preliminary results reveal that there was a profit from the youth camp.  A final accounting of all figures and charges are underway and we will give you a more accurate update as it is available.

Please be patient with Brother Pitsenbarger as he gets his feet on the ground and gets acclimated to his new responsibilities.  There is a lot to remember.  He is excited to serve you and I believe he will do a very good job.

God Bless!
Superintendent Hudson

Letter From the Superintendent (August 1, 2011)

West Virginia District
United Pentecostal Church Intl’

Greetings in the only saving name under heaven – J-E-S-U-S!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus,

W-O-W!!! Hot, Hot, Hot...... It surely has been summertime in WV.  I know you are like most everyone else, trying to stay cool and keep up!  I wanted to update you on several subjects as follows:

Those in attendance can attest to the fact that this year's Youth Camp was an impacting time of power and impartation to the youth of WV.  Brother Staten did a wonderful job of addressing the needs of not only the youth but also all of us present.  The grounds were very nice and accommodating.  I do not recall a time when on the fun side of things our youth were more involved in activities of the popular zip-line, fishing, paddleboats, softball, basketball, archery shooting, and board games.  I can say they were quite involved.  Special thanks are to be given to Brother Fazzalore and the entire staff (dorm personnel, cooks, workers).

The Men’s Conference is two weeks away on August 18-20.  Bill Davis from Macon, GA is an outstanding evangelist who will minister mightily in this conference along with our own Daniel Garlitz and others.  Brother Davis recently survived a major heart attack and stroke so his words will carry extra meaning as he ministers.  Host pastor Anthony Moss is looking forward to hosting us and they will do an excellent job I am confident. I just reserved five rooms for our Riverside Group.  Take advantage of this opportunity.

I would like for our churches of WV to act as a prayer covering for each of these missions trips that will be taking place as follows:

  1. Robert Gordon – “On August 22 I fly to Africa.  I will meet Bro Simoneaux in South Africa and from there we will fly to Blantyre, Malawi.  Once on the ground in Malawi, we will travel by automobile several hours to Mozambique. I will be preaching the General Conference services on August 26-28.  We will then return to Malawi and meet the rest of the A-Team for the crusade in Blantyre.”
  2. A-TEAM Members Daniel Garlitz, Greg Hurley, David Bounds, Robert Gordon, Roger Zimmerman, Charles Wright, Steve Anderson, Missionary Charles Robinette, and Brother Samuel from Brother Robinette’s church in Vienna, Austria.

The A-TEAM arrives in Malawi on August 31 and the Crusade dates are September 2-3-4. They are believing God for 1,000 to receive the Holy Ghost during this Crusade Outreach.  Let’s cover them in prayer and believe God with them.

We are using the services of ONE CALL NOW to connect with our WV ministers.  If you did not receive a call during camp or if you want a different number called when we put out these calls please email me at hudsondm@comcast.net or call the office at 304-292-4939 and Michelle or Bev will take the info to plug into our system. We will use this to update in times of sickness or death or some emergency that needs immediate attention.  We call all WV ministers in a short time frame with needed info.  It is a great service.  Special thanks to Brother Nathaniel Hudson for setting this up.

Don’t delay.

I am happy to report to you that our own Sister Ilda Wolford has been selected with the honor of being inducted into the respectable ‘Order Of The Faith’ Hall of Fame of Outstanding Pentecostal Ministers of the UPCI. The Order of the Faith, established in 2002, is the United Pentecostal Church International's prestigious award honoring outstanding achievement and exemplary service to the UPCI. Members are decided upon by the Executive Committee.

The Order of the Faith new members are inducted at the annual general conference of the UPCI, held during the fall of each year.  Sister Wolford will be so honored on October 10th in Louisville, Kentucky.  Due to her poor health and her inability to attend, the WV District Superintendent, Past Superintendent Garlitz, Presbyter Zimmerman and current pastor at Job, Brother Chaney, and our wives will represent Sister Wolford and WV at this induction ceremony.  One other West Virginian has been so honored and that was Brother William Cole in 2004.  C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S to Sister Wolford.  You make all West Virginian’s glad for you.

Last fall I felt impressed to conduct Town Hall meetings in each section if I ever served as leader in WV and made the following notes accordingly.

Town Hall Meetings in each Section

  1. Schedule meetings in August
  2. Invite all ministers for a Saturday morning forum/do a split session to include wives led by Sister Hudson
  3. Send a questionnaire out ahead of time that includes the following:
    1. What programs would you like to see added/deleted from the present district structure?
    2. What suggestions would you make that the district might better serve you as a minister/pastor/church?
    3. What suggestions would you have that the district might better serve our youth/children and our PK’s?

With the above in mind I presented this to the district board in our July 21 board meeting and the district board overwhelmingly approved the following dates and locations.

  • Section One – August 13 at Riverside from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • Section Two – August 27 at Keyser from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Section Three – September 10 at Pennsboro from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
  • Section Four – September 9 at Huntington New Beginning from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.
  • Section Five – October 1 at Glen Ferris from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Sister Hudson and I will be at each of these. We are not coming for a meal but to listen as you talk to us and give us input on what you want for WV District. We will share a cup of coffee/tea and a Danish etc. as you share with us what is on your mind for WV. Please come prepared to answer the following questions outlined above and any other you wish to share. Sister Hudson will be with the ladies while I am with the men during this time and we will come together at the conclusion.

I have appointed a committee to update the policy language and bring up to date any additional changes that need clarified in our policies and WV District Constitution.  Committee members include:  Rev. Russell Riley, Chairman, Rev. Norman Mills, Rev. Daniel Garlitz, Rev. David Greever and Consultant Rev. Robert Keenan.  If you have any input in any of these areas please contact one of these men to give input.

The WV District will have a cutting edge display promoting WV at the General Conference in Louisville.  You will want to stop by.  It will be something you will be honored to identify with.

W-H-E-W!!!! I know this is a lot of information to digest but take a moment to take all of it in. We will look forward to seeing you in the upcoming Town Hall meetings.  Our prayer is that we survive the summer with all the vacations, reunions and what-have-you that takes folks out of church during the summer.  We will survive.

Blessings on you, your family and children and your church!
